Harlem, New York, September 28, 2019 — Fulfillment, a one-woman play conceived and written by Tonia(ka) Gray. This show features drama, spoken-word, dance, the sounds of Africa and gospel music all intertwine to tell the story of a colorful transformation.
This play is about how a woman transmuted sadness, betrayal, and failure into reflection and connection using her imagination to create and bring to life one of her enslaved ancestors. A beautiful weaving of the experience of two women; demonstrating the only difference between the enslaved ancestors and us, is time. Human emotions and inner-strength are the same then as they are now.
